How to Reheat a Skillet Cookie
To maintain the soft, gooey center and crisp edges, here are the best methods:
In the Oven (best texture)
- Preheat your oven to 300°F.
- Cover the skillet loosely with foil to prevent over-browning.
- Reheat for 8–10 minutes, or until warmed through.
In the Microwave (quickest)
- Scoop out a portion into a microwave-safe bowl.
- Heat for 15–20 seconds (more if cold from the fridge).
- For extra indulgence, top with a little coconut cream or dark chocolate drizzle!
What’s the Difference Between a Skillet Cookie and a Pizookie?
Both are warm, gooey desserts baked in a skillet—but there are a few subtle differences: A pizookie is a specific kind of skillet cookie—super soft and almost dough-like, often served with toppings. This Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie offers that same cozy comfort, but with nourishing, brain-supportive ingredients and more balanced sweetness.
A pizookie—short for “pizza cookie”—is essentially a type of skillet cookie, but it’s typically very underbaked and extra gooey throughout. It’s often served warm with a scoop of ice cream right on top, and was made popular by BJ’s Restaurant. While both are delicious, pizookies tend to be ultra-sweet and indulgent, while a skillet cookie like this one can be made with more nourishing ingredients and balanced sweetness.
