Brief history of why I’m here

I think a lot of good ideas are born out of frustration. This moment of frustration is where I was when I first considered studying nutrition. All my life I have been in love with food- through culinary school, working in restaurants and custom made cakes. While I always liked the area of nutrition, I didn’t take it very seriously- until I got sick.

My husband and I joke that each of my children stole an element of my health with their birth. It’s a joke, but it’s true- from Hashimotos, insulin resistance, chronic inflammation, to crippling anxiety, panic attacks and eventually a proper diagnosis in severe OCD.

I learned something from each part of my story. I found compassion for others’ difficulties after experiencing true suffering. You don’t have to be alone in this process. Understanding the impact of illness, I use a gentle approach to help you get back to the life you want to be living.

How We Work Together

Let’s actually work to figure out what’s lying beneath all those complicated symptoms to restore your balance.

1-1 Nutritional Therapy

This probably isn’t your first time searching for help. I know I scoured the internet desperate to find information that would help me to heal. But the information is conflicting, the supplements don’t always work, and after a few failed attempts at protocols- you feel defeated.

Healing doesn’t look the same for everyone. 1-1 therapy works specifically for you. The steps are personalized to your needs, while the priorities and changes are made to be sustainable in your life.

Nutritional therapy supports the body to restore itself. All of those tiny symptoms that may not mean a lot on their own- when piled together, show areas of need in the body. We will work together to support these areas with diet + lifestyle changes, and professional grade supplements when needed.

You know there was something wrong in your body. You didn’t always feel this way- something has to be causing it. As much as you reach out for help, it feels like the doctors aren’t listening. When tests came back clean and there was no easy answer- no one looks any further.

If you’re defeated, overwhelmed, nothing is working and  no one is listening to you- this is for you.

    “Leana is a great teacher.

Her thoughtfulness comes out in these meetings. These are not just meeting to “tell you what to eat” or to push you to change, they are no judgment conversations that usually lead to super uplifting endings. I was going in with zero expectations because I really wasn’t sure what all she was going to tell me. I have Lyme and I’m also not very healthy some days because of my job and usual commitments.

I was concerned that it would be something that I couldn’t handle, changes that were going to be too hard to make or commit to.

It was the total opposite.

Instead of talking about diet, we talked about symptoms, stress, sleep, anxieties, and how to correct them, but gradually and way easier than anything I had tried before.

I think the biggest thing was I felt like I got so much out of it. Someone who actually cared, but also directed me. She would always say, “what about this?” Or “maybe we could try this.”

I loved this time with her, and know I can contact her and ask questions still. This was such a growing point for me, from food to supplements, to conversations and treatments. I’m so happy that people can get this advice, versus the traditional route.”

“Prior to working with Leana, I was experiencing digestive tract issues and eczema flare ups which required me to have multiple rounds of steroids and consults with dermatologist. None of these interventions were helping me with my issues and I felt very “unheard” in the process.

I ask my dermatologist multiple times for bloodwork to be done and to have further diagnostic assessment, but was not given the opportunity and instead, the recommendation was to go on a immunosuppressant medication for the eczema.

Thanks to Leana and her nutritional therapy program, I was able to heal both my gut and my skin, and have stayed off any medication.”

“I went into the process of working with Leana hoping for best case scenario some advice on vitamins and probiotics; my experience has by far exceeded my expectations!

She has helped me correct things I had no hope of ever improving!

In the last 9 years I have experienced some major life events and several invasive surgeries that has severally affected my body. I’ve suffered weight gain, lethargy, acid reflux, migraines, joint pain, just to name a few. In the short time I’ve worked with Leana she has helped implement realistic lifestyle changes resulting in huge changes to the way I feel.

I have energy, I am sleeping better and my digestion is SO much better!

My whole life I have suffered from motion sickness but it has progressively gotten worse in the last few years, I could not ride in a vehicle without taking Dramamine and still would experience nausea. This is an unexpected improvement Leana helped me with, I thought I was doomed for life!

Leana is so easy to work with and has a realistic approach to help make sustainable lifestyle changes. She is quick to respond with any questions I have and takes any concerns into account when creating protocols. Working with Leana has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health and I am excited to see more improvements!”

“It was wonderful working with Leana. I was dealing with constant stomach bloating and irregular bathroom visits.

She taught me what foods to concentrate on along with supplements to help. She helped me with recipes to cook and helpful ideas to make planning and prepping easier.

I am no longer bloated and go to the bathroom daily. Leana is knowledgeable, thorough and a pleasure to work with.”

“This magical, marvelous food on our plate, this sustenance we absorb, has a story to tell. It has a journey. It leaves a footprint. It leaves a legacy. To eat with reckless abandon, without conscience, without knowledge; folks, this ain’t normal.”
